About

Art is my refuge on tough days — a place where chaos settles and peace finds me.

Art is created from the diversity of life experience. Beauty can be found in both the exhilaration of adventure and in the stillness of abstention. Whether reproducing an image on camera or creating an image from the landscapes of the mind, art creates a moment that is frozen in time and releases it to the beholding of others.

An artist tells a story with art.

Some may be captivated by art, others may be repulsed. While some might stand in adoration, others may gaze up one the same work of art and wonder why it would be considered ART.

The artist never entirely knows . . . We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark. Agnes de Mille.

The goal of art is not to simply hang on a wall. The goal of art is not to decorate the world. The goal of art is to release a feeling within the artist that sends a shockwave of emotions through the heart and soul of all who view it.

Art does not have to be pretty . . .

It has to be meaningful. Duane Hanson.

LET YOUR JOURNEY BE YOUR MUSE.

Life is the art of drawing without an eraser. John W. Gardner.

Artful expression has always been a very important part of me. When I became disabled in 2008, art and writing became my saving grace. A few years later I developed a progressive chronic illness, resulting in my spending half my days on bed rest. I stopped painting, and packed away my supplies. Then I discovered new media! I went from traditional media to pixel painting, and it has been good medicine.

My artful expression is heavily influenced by my lifelong study of spiritual practices. I hope you enjoy my work.
